I just set up a new app on my T-Mobile G1 called wpToGo. Which stands for ‘WordPress to Go’. It allows me to publish articles and blog posts from my phone! How awesome?

I think if this is successful I will be doing it a lot more often.

Anyway, what am I doing at the moment? I’m watching England v Australia at the Brit Oval. It’s the first one day international between the two since the Ashes.

We’re not doing too badly at the moment. Won the toss, decided to field, and Aussies are currently 160 for 3 after 37 overs. A run rate of 4.32 an over. If we restrict them to around 210 I think we can attack and go for the win. We’ll see.

Let’s go England!

This was probably a boring post for some. For that I apologise! Lol. I’ll try and post more interesting stuff in the future!

An online postcard from my holiday in Malaga, Spain!

A blue sky, no clouds, a beaming sun, and a slight breeze to break the heat. Perfect weather is what I call that. A situation which is far from what the UK is experiencing at the moment.

As a Brit you always hope that you experience some great British summer weather just before you go away and then when you are away is buckets down with rain until you return. That way you miss the bad parts of the ‘Great British Summer’. This wish wasn’t perfectly executed this year as there were a couple of days rain just before I left the country. This doesn’t really matter any more though, as it’s hard to feel anything but happiness when the weather is this great.

Been having a lovely time out here. The parents were around for the first few days. We all went out for a couple of meals. Me and the Dad got in a round of golf (another poor performance on the golf course from myself). Then they have returned home to leave me and missus to enjoy the flat to ourselves.

We’ve only had a day to ourselves since they have been gone, but last night we went to a place called Mijas and it was brilliant. Mijas is a traditional Spanish town, cobble streets and every building is painted white. The town church itself is 400+ years old. We had a lovely meal and nice walk round the town before coming back to the flat.

That’s it for festivities so far. Today we are spending the day in the flat and round the pool. Probably will cook fajitas tonight before watching the C4 program about MJ and the last few months of his life. Will be taking Amy down the driving range at some point. Going to try to teach her to hit a golf ball properly (I say properly, I’ve got to figure that out first!).

Hope your doing good (whoever is reading this)! Wish you were here!

Welcome to my personal blog and portfolio website.

This is my first blog entry for my new site. The place is not totally finished, so apologies for that. It is really a project of mine which is going to take shape over time. Blog entries like this will probably be few and far between for a while. This is just because I am concentrating on making sure that all my work is showcased on here properly first. Once that is done I will start writing on here regulary.

The sort of thing you can expect to see in the blog entries once they get going are all the normal things you would expect to find in a video game enthusiast, programmers blog. Personally I want to focus on bloging about cool programming techniques I learn that I think would be useful to other people who are searching the web and are willing to learn. However, I will be also bloging about interesting things I see and get up to in life.

The showcasing of my work is going to fall into three main categories really. These are Journalism, Web Design, and Game Design:

Journalism

Over the years I have got more and more active in the online Sonic and SEGA communities and more recently I have started writing for a news site in this community called TSSZ|news, as well as making short appearances on other gaming sites and blogs. So in the Journalism section of my portfolio expect to find all the big stories, reviews, and interviews which I have completed in my short journalism career.

Web Design

Since working with HTML in a small piece of coursework in my GCSE’s I have been doing web design as a hobby. I made small sites here and there, helped out friends who needed, and generally did it because I enjoyed it. This culminated in a part-time job in webdesign, in 2006. Since then I have continued web design as a hobby. In addition to this I completed a module in E-Commerce and Web Design as part of my degree. So in the Web Design section you will find all my past experiences in this field.

Game Design

In 2005 I started a degree at City University in London. My degree was in Computer Science and Games Technology. So over the last 4 years I have gradually built a small portfolio in this field. In the Game Design section you will find all my work in this area.

The site theme is not created by myself. It is an existing open source theme for WordPress called ‘Arras Theme‘. Over time I am going to modify this theme to better suit my personality and the content which is to be uploaded to this blog.

That’s all there is to say at the moment really. I have set up an email subscription service on this site. This way if you are interested in staying up to date with what I am doing you can! When I actually do create content, you will receive an email at the end of the day telling you so. Easy!

Hope you enjoy your time on my site and enjoy viewing my work.

My contact details are on the site in the footer, and in the contact page. Do not hessitate to contact me about anything.
